What is LMNT?

LMNT is a tasty electrolyte drink mix formulated to help anyone with their electrolyte needs and perfectly suited to those following a keto, low-carb, or paleo diet. LMNT packs a tasty but powerful punch of three essential electrolytes - sodium (1000mg), potassium (200mg) and magnesium (60mg). With LMNT, hard isn't so hard anymore; you're better hydrated and getting all the electrolyte replenishment you need to power through.

Not for me

I know these are meant to be super salty, that’s the point. But for me they weren't palatable - super salty, highly acidic from the citric acid in them, my stomach groaned in argument each time I consumed one. Possibly there needs to be greater guidance for the person consuming them too, 1000mg of sodium is a lot for my weight/height.

Delivery was quick. Good variety sampler. I do find it very sweet, so reduced to half a pack to a 700ml bottle of water, and I think it could be reduced to even a quarter, which is a little hard to work out/measure.

Great order and delivery service. The flavoured LMNT drinks are nice. I do think they are quite sweet for my palate even at max recommended dilution. I’m not so much a fan of stevia but the fruit flavours are pleasant. The Raw unflavoured one is best and you can choose to add your own flavours in then such as lemon juice.

These saved me during fasting

I used these for the first time during a 3 day fast and honestly there is no doubt in my mine they saved me. No headaches, none of that "urgh" feeling. And the hunger pangs stayed at bay. I bought the trial pack with 9 flavours so I had something to look forward to with each new one as the fast went along. LMNT says they will not break a fast, but the internet says you shouldn't have the flavoured ones as they will. And I was on a water fast specifically so particularly careful about having nothing I shouldn't. So I'm still a little confused about that. But otherwise thumbs up to these and I will absolutely be buying more come next fast time ; >

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed review Melaine ❤️ Regarding the question as to whether or not the flavoured LMNTs will break a fast ... 'technically', they will, but the definition of breaking a fast can vary depending on your fasting goals.

LMNT has zero sugar and 5-10 calories with 1-2g carbs, so its impact on your blood sugar is very minimal if at all. However, the flavoured versions are sweetened with stevia and flavoured with natural flavouring so you may see a short, slight rise in your insulin levels.

We'd say they are fine if you are fasting for weight loss, but not if you are fasting for autophagy. But as you noted, there are lots of differing opinions to that 😀
