Description

Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to glycine, an amino acid. It's also sold as magnesium bisglycinate or diglycinate; all three names describe the same magnesium–glycine compound. SUPER LYTE Magnesium Glycinate is a single-ingredient powder: 100g of magnesium glycinate with no fillers, flavours or additives. It's about 13% elemental magnesium, so one 1600mg serve gives you roughly 208mg of magnesium. Packaged in Australia using imported ingredients.

How does magnesium glycinate compare with other forms?

Each form of magnesium is magnesium paired with a different partner compound. The biggest practical difference is how much actual (elemental) magnesium each gram contains.

Form Paired with Elemental magnesium LYTES option
Magnesium glycinate (bisglycinate) Glycine (an amino acid) about 13% SUPER LYTE Magnesium Glycinate 100g (this product) or 400g
Magnesium taurate Taurine (an amino acid) about 8.9% SUPER LYTE Magnesium Taurate 100g
Magnesium malate Malic acid about 15% SUPER LYTE Magnesium Malate 100g
Magnesium gluconate Gluconic acid about 5.4% SUPER LYTE Magnesium Gluconate 100g

A higher percentage means less powder for the same amount of magnesium. It doesn't make one form better than another. If you're unsure which form suits you, ask your pharmacist or health professional. Browse all forms in our magnesium collection. For a side-by-side guide, read magnesium taurate vs glycinate vs bisglycinate.

Prefer capsules? BioTrace Magnesium Bisglycinate gives 109mg of elemental magnesium per capsule, so there's nothing to weigh.

A great form of Magnesium

It’s great to be able to get the pure base product without the extra questionable ingredients that come along with tablets and capsules.
